The Sandman is based on Neil Gaiman’s hugely popular series of graphic novels of the same name. Between 1989 and 1996, Gaiman’s comic book series was released. The TV show, similar to the plot in the graphic novel, will follow a figure named Dream (also known as Morpheus), who is the physical manifestation of Dream. Dream, previously locked up 100 years by a mortal wizard, ultimately, is set free in the present. After being let free, Morpheus / Dream must utilize his magical abilities to bring back the world of The Dreaming. “The Sandman” trailer promises that the show will be as great as the adored graphic novels. Amazing visuals in the video helped to create a lavish dream world.

A new photograph of Christie and Sturridge’s characters from Empire reveals some of that ethereal world. Dream is seated in the middle, looking down at the ground with a sour expression. He is positioned in front of a marbled room that resembles a castle and has an open back that reveals dangerous crimson smoke. Christie’s Lucifer, dressed in white robes, is seen to the left.

Grand sci-fi and fantasy figures are nothing new to Christie.
