Creator of “Squid Game” Hwang Dong-hyuk provides an update on the season 2 script. “Squid Game” quickly rose to prominence on Netflix after its late 2021 launch and is now among the service’s most well-liked shows ever. In June 2022, Netflix officially gave the go-ahead for “Squid Game” season 2 after Dong-hyuk teased it for several months. There is no official release date or description of the plot as of yet.
“Squid Game“ was released in 2021, but months have passed while the series has continued to garner attention. Netflix revealed plans for Squid Game: The Challenge, a reality TV program inspired by the “Squid Game”, shortly after it was revealed that “Squid Game” season 2 had been approved. With plans for 456 contestants to compete for a 4.56 million USD prize, the reality program has lofty goals and will be presented similarly to how the competition is presented in “Squid Game”. “Squid Game” just maintained its incredible pace by earning numerous Emmy nominations, including accolades for writing and directing for Dong-hyuk.
In a recent interview with E! News, Dong-hyuk gives fans another preview of “Squid Game” season 2. Dong-hyuk was reluctant to respond to inquiries regarding “Squid Game” at first, but he eventually changed his mind. “I have a set outline. I have a treatment of a whole season two episode with new games and new characters. I like it. I think it’s good. It’s better than what I expected.”
Even if Dong-answer hyuk’s is inevitably ambiguous, it raises anticipation for “Squid Game” season 2. The “Squid Game” developer, who was just nominated for an Emmy, had hinted that season 2’s themes will be similar to those of the first season and stated that Gi-hun would return. Other than that, he has been deliciously evasive in his comments about the upcoming season of “Squid Game”, simply offering fans a taste of the recurring characters and potential spoilers. Dong-hyuk still says very little in this most recent statement, but he expresses confidence in the caliber of “Squid Game” season 2 and the games contained therein.

Gi-hun and the Front Man are the only characters confirmed to return for “Squid Game” season 2, despite the fact that there have been several rumors regarding characters like Ali surviving the events of season 1.
