Creator of “Pam & Tommy” The actor that Robert Siegel originally envisioned as being ideal for its infamous talking penis scene was Chris Evans. The tumultuous three-year marriage of Baywatch actress Pamela Anderson and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee in the 1990s is the subject of a biographical drama on Hulu. The titular characters were played by Lily James and Sebastian Stan, who astound both critics and viewers with their remarkable transformations and compelling performances. The program made its debut on February 2 and is currently up for 10 Emmys.
Stan’s first project since his well-received appearance as Bucky Barnes, Captain America’s former best friend who was later transformed into a super assassin, was “Pam & Tommy“. Together with Evans, Stan debuted in the part in 2016’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier. In subsequent movies like Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Endgame, he reprised the part. Aside from Endgame, Stan starred in the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which followed the exploits of his character after Captain America put down his shield.
In a shocking and hilarious scene from “Pam & Tommy” episode two, Stan appeared as himself, standing completely naked and engaging in conversation with his penis. Stan revealed in a recent interview with Awards Daily that the show’s producers had initially proposed casting Evans for the contentious cameo. The actor, 39, scoffed at the notion and claimed that he had no way of getting his Captain America co-star to agree to it. See what he said below:
“We didn’t know who we were going to get at that point. The guys, I think, called me at one point and were like, ‘What do you think? Do you think Chris Evans would do this with you?’ I was like, ‘I’m not calling him, OK? I can’t ask him to do this.'”
The shocking Lee and his member moment was portrayed by “Pam & Tommy” as if it were a sentient organ. “Pam & Tommy” creators felt it was essential to include this private incident in the series because the rock star himself explicitly described it in his memoir. By combining an animatronic penis and CGI, the much-discussed scene was able to be both audacious and humorous. The John Wick 3 actor Jason Mantzoukas finally lent his voice for the cameo after much deliberation about who to get for the role.
Fans can only speculate as to how Evans would have brought the infamous scene to life if he had agreed to be contacted by the “Pam & Tommy” team; Stan chose not to say if they had. The two actors’ unexpected but welcome reunion would undoubtedly take place. Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes are unlikely to work together again in a single project given the MCU’s ever-expanding scope. Fans of Captain America should anticipate more projects from Evans and Stan in the future.
