Maisie Williams is looking forward to watching “House of the Dragon”, a new Game of Thrones spinoff. Williams played Arya Stark on Game of Thrones for the entirety of the show’s run and gained worldwide acclaim for her performance, despite the fact that she was so young at the time. Arya even went on to murder the Night King and received a shout-out from Drake for it, despite it being contentious among certain Game of Thrones fans.
However, Arya will not feature in the upcoming prequel “House of the Dragon”, owing to the fact that the program is set 200 years before Game of Thrones. The beginning of House Targaryen’s demise as rulers of Westeros is chronicled in “House of the Dragon”, which will eventually lead to the great civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons, which tore the dynasty apart. The show, which stars Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, and Rhys Ifans, will premiere on August 21.
And HBO can count on Williams to tune in when “House of the Dragon” premieres, as the star tells Ladbible that she is looking forward to it. Part of what makes it thrilling for her is that she has no involvement with it, allowing her to simply enjoy it as a fan. Here’s the rest of the quote:
I am going to watch House of the Dragon. I’m really looking forward to it. I can’t wait. […] I’m very, very intrigued. It’ll be nice to watch a Game of Thrones show I’m not part of and just get lost in it. I’m thrilled.
It’s reasonable that Williams would prefer to watch the show rather than participate in it, especially given how negatively she has portrayed some of her encounters. This is primarily due to the rigors of the job, as she grew up in the spotlight and had to deal with the character’s public persona not matching her own inner self-expression. In addition, the show’s last season was polarizing, and dealing with the Game of Thrones season 8 criticism must have been challenging for the cast.
As a result, Williams is undoubtedly looking forward to escaping into the fantasy world of “House of the Dragon” and forgetting about his job. By doing so, she joins a growing number of eager fans eager to learn more about George R.R. Martin’s rich universe and watch the Targaryen dynasty in action. It’s only to be hoped that season 1 gets off to a good start, and not just because fans will be wary after the Game of Thrones ending. The Rings of Power will be a tough competitor for “House of the Dragon”, and HBO will be eager to establish that their epic fantasy series is the better one to watch in 2022.
