Horizon Forbidden West is an action role-playing game in which the player takes on the role of a third-person character. In a world populated by violent, animalistic machines, players control Aloy, a huntress. She explores the enigmatic Forbidden West, a post-apocalyptic version of the western United States. The map is larger than in the last game, and it's full of secrets hidden beneath the remains of the Old Ones' realm.
Underwater exploration is one of the primary additions to the sequel. With the Valor Surge system, freeform climbing, and equipment like the Shieldwing, Focus Scanner, Diving Mask, and Pullcaster, the sequel boasts improved melee combat, redesigned climbing mechanics, and increased traversal options. Quests now have a better mission structure that supports a wider range of objectives and more enticing reward systems. It has improved the animation and cinematic effects.
