The creator of “Gotham Knights,” WB Games Montréal, has announced that Batman’s foes would respond to his demise in the open-world superhero game. After the unfortunate death of the Dark Knight, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, and Red Hood will team together to defend Gotham City in the forthcoming adventure. “Gotham Knights” will explore what the Caped Crusader’s rogues become without their worst nemesis, even though many fans find it difficult to accept that Batman is dead in the game.
The new Gotham in “Gotham Knights“ was designed by WB Games Montréal, the same team behind 2013’s Batman: Arkham Origins. The four playable characters in the game can be selected by players, and each one has unique combat skills and strengths. For instance, Red Hood would use dual pistols and have supernatural abilities, whilst Nightwing will concentrate on acrobatic melee combat and fly his glider, the Flying Trapeze. The diverse cast of villains in Gotham Knights will include characters like Mr. Freeze, the Penguin, and the enigmatic Court of Owls. The Joker won’t appear in Gotham Knights, as developers have stated, but other well-known Batman adversaries are rumored to have something to say about the hero’s demise.
The game will depict the villains’ reactions to Batman’s demise, according to “Gotham Knights” director Patrick Redding in an exclusive interview with Comic Book Resources. According to Redding, each antagonist in the game was selected by WB Games Montréal based on their distinct and particular connection to the Dark Knight. These villains will need to reconsider their place in Gotham and the DC Comics universe now that their greatest foe is no longer there. Redding also hinted at several upcoming “Gotham Knights” villains, including one that would be revealed soon.

In a different interview with Comic Book Resources, Patrick Redding hinted at a potential Damian Wayne appearance in “Gotham Knights.” The well-known character, created by DC Comics in 2006, is portrayed as the fourth notable Robin and the child of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul. Many fans have questioned whether Damian will appear in “Gotham Knights” as a cameo or a fifth playable hero, given the character’s popularity. Redding teases that the son of Batman might be in the game while claiming that talking about Damian would be a massive spoiler.
The focus of “Gotham Knights” will be on how Batman’s important allies are handling his passing, but it appears that the mourning process will continue. There will also be many of the Dark Knight’s biggest villains there, and the game is said to heavily revolve around how they react to the death of their arch-enemy. Without Batman, the biggest criminals of Gotham City will appear in totally original ways in “Gotham Knights.”
