By swapping out the game’s main bosses for the Yonko pirate lords from the One Piece manga series, an incredible “Elden Ring” mod turns the game into a One Piece adventure. The critically acclaimed open-world fantasy epic from FromSoftware is still getting tweaked and improved by fan-made mods. “Elden Ring” recently received the Bloodborne gun parry system thanks to a modder, and a crossover mod has since transformed the game into a gripping One Piece rip-off.
One Piece is a manga series that was first released in 1997. It chronicles the story of the endearing pirate Monkey D. Luffy and his journey to explore the seas for Gol D. Roger’s fabled riches. As they search for the One Piece treasure, Luffy and his cantankerous crew the Straw Hats run upon other pirates who either become devoted comrades or violent enemies. It didn’t take long for One Piece to be turned into an anime series, and since then, it has inspired a number of books, animated movies, and computer games. One Piece Odyssey, a new turn-based JRPG, will allow players to sail with Luffy and a number of other original swashbuckling characters.
Arestame Arkeid, the designer of the mod, and Epicopboy, a fan of One Piece, demonstrated an outstanding One Piece crossover mod for Elden Ring on Twitter. By substituting three monsters in FromSoftware’s fantasy RPG with Yonkos, the band of formidable pirates known as the Four Emperors, the mod transforms the game into a true Straw Hat simulator. Whitebeard, Kaido of the Beasts, the Elden Lord Godrey, Starscourge Radahn, and Red Hair Shanks are all appropriately transformed, as is Malenia. The three Yonkos from One Piece are a wonderful fit for the three demigod bosses in “Elden Ring,” despite the tragic inability of players to transform into Luffy.

While Arestame’s One Piece mod faithfully replicates the recognizable and brutal enemies from the souls-like epic, a Kingdom Hearts version for “Elden Ring” is noticeably stranger. The update changes the character representations of a number of characters, making the playable Tarnished into Sora from Kingdom Hearts and the boss of Liurnia, Rennala, into the Genie from Aladdin. Rennala’s students are also replaced with Peppa Pig and My Little Pony characters as the mod continues. Overall, compared to the comparably subdued One Piece version, the “Elden Ring” mod feels considerably less organic (and much more cursed).
The upcoming interactive high seas adventure One Piece Odyssey already has epic battles with the series’ pirate lords thanks to Arestame’s “Elden Ring” patch. Godrey, Radahn, and Malenia are perfectly modeled like Whitebeard, Kaido, and Shanks, creating an intense open-world One Piece role-play. Although it is currently impossible for players to transform into Luffy, another model swap mod would be the ideal method to finish this One Piece adventure.
